As is said in the tweet, this new Street Fighter game will unfortunately only be available on the new Nintendo Switch.

Here is the tweet with the announcement trailer.

The new Nintendo console is set to be released on March 3, 2017.

Unfortunately, it is not currently confirmed when the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

This will be the first game in the Street Fighter II series since Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix which was released in 2008.

For those unfamiliar with Evil Ryu and Violent Ken here is a brief summary for the two characters.

Evil Ryu is Ryu when he succumbs to the power of the Satsui No Hado. He becomes much more like Akuma in this form, fighting to solely prove he is the strongest and constantly seeking a new challenge. Evil Ryu’s first appearance is as a secret character in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and more well known as a character added into Street Fighter IV with its Arcade Edition.

Violent Ken is the form Ken is forced into when he was brainwashed by M. Bison and his Psycho Power during Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. The only game that Violent Ken was playable in before this announcement was  SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos.

Here is a picture of them in the new game.

Holy crap, are there hands in Violent Ken’s Hadoken?

While I don’t know if this will be enough to entice Street Fighter fans to purchase a Nintendo Switch, it is certainly exciting for long-time Street Fighter fans.

I would love it, and I am sure a lot of other people would as well, if the game got to systems outside of the Nintendo Switch eventually.

What are your thoughts about the announcement? Sound off below.
