Capcom releases edited notes to season 2 patch notes and promise of update to the CFN Network

According to a new post from Capcom’s blog, there were a few changes to season 2 that were either not put on the list or had wrong values.

Here are the changes;

Ibuki

Bonshogeri – Knockback on Crush counter extended by 3F

Juri

Crouching LP – Chain cancelling frames changed from 9F-10F ⇒ 10-11F

Ryodansatsu – Air hitbox and total frames adjusted slightly

Birdie

EX Bull Head – Changed recovery from 28F ⇒ 23F

Alex

Power Drop – Changed attack startup from 5F ⇒ 6F

Changes that were incorrectly listed in the balance changelist:

Ken

Incorrect: L Shoryuken (Normal/V-Trigger) – Removed throw invincibility

Correct: L Shoryuken (Normal/V-Trigger) – Did not remove throw invincibility

Karin

Incorrect: Standing MK – Slowed down timing of startup on V-Trigger cancel by 3F

Correct: Standing MK – Slowed down timing of startup on V-Trigger cancel by 5F

The post goes on to state the Capcom is currently looking character performance for season 2 to see if changes are needed.

“Additionally, we’ve been monitoring character performance since the release of Season 2 balance patch. We are currently analyzing this data to see what, if any, additional adjustments may be needed”.

This is good news for everyone who hates Urien, Guile, Cammy, Balrog, and Laura in season 2 as they will most likely be on the receiving end of the nerf stick.

“We good Capcom?”

The post also notes that they have been working on improvements to the CFN and that an update should be coming in the spring.

“We’re also happy to announce that the team has been hard at work for several months to improve the network quality of CFN. We can’t share all of the details quite yet, but we are anticipating an update this Spring. We have more news to share on this in the coming months”

It is unclear from this statement if Capcom plans to release the balances changes along with the CFN update in the spring or before the Capcom Pro Tour begins. But, at least we know that Capcom is actively analyzing the new state of the game and changes are on their way.

What balance changes or improvements to the CFN would you like to see? Sound off below.
