An interesting new addition is the Capcom Cup Last Chance Qualifier. This event will be open to everyone who did not make the cut and is still hoping to get a shot.

Another change coming this year is winning a premier event no longer auto-qualifies you for the cup. Winning a premier event will still earn you a large amount of points, but will no longer 100% guarantee a spot in Capcom Cup.

The regional finals will be structured as illustrated below.

Another nice change is the Last Chance Qualifier will be region locked now, which will allow more players from each region getting a chance to compete.

Each Regional Final will have $30,000 up for grabs, $12,000 of which will go to the winner.

As of now, Capcom is keeping the new format for Capcom Cup a secret, but they did say the tournament will be held in a group stage format.
