Capcom has recently revealed a new trailer for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers that shows off some new gameplay.
Here it is;
One of the most interesting features from the trailer was the color editing of characters.
There has been no indication that the game will have new costumes for each character like in other more recent Street Fighter titles.
So, the color editing saw in the trailer would provide a nice way for players to make their characters unique and is essentially a better way to vary any costumes for characters in any game.
While I don’t see “The Way of Hado” becoming insanely popular, it will be interesting to see how well the Nintendo Switch can handle it.
It is also nice for Capcom to include various sketches of characters they had. Its not something necessary, but its a nice little feature.
One of the more troubling aspects of the game as a whole however is that it is only available on the Nintendo Switch. Like most people, I cannot see myself justifying buying an entire console just to get one game. While I am sure there are other fun Nintendo Switch games worth getting, I just cannot justify buying one.
While it might be Capcom’s intention of making the game competitive, making the game a Nintendo Switch exclusive certainly reduces any chance of it becoming one. Its why I feel some fighting games, like Pokken Tournament, did not become as popular as they could have. I hope that Capcom will eventually make ports to other platforms like PS4 and PC. I somewhat doubt it will come to Xbox One considering Street Fighter 5 did not.
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers for the Nintendo Switch releases on 5/26 for $39.99.
