Ghost Rider joins Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

A recent twitter post has from the official Marvel vs. Capcom twitter account declared that Ghost Rider will be part of the starting roster for the upcoming fighting game. Hit the jump to see the full tweet and a very cool looking cover.

I am starting to wonder if Gamescom will be revealing any more news about the upcoming anticipated 2v2 fighting game. Considering that the game will be coming out on 9/19 of this year, Gamescom would be the perfect place to produce some more hype before the game is released. I really hope that Ghost Rider will be debuting with some new characters to the franchise because while I like Ghost Rider as a character, he is yet another character that was in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It would be a smart move by Capcom to reveal new characters alongside Ghost Rider to counter the flack Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has been getting for having a cast that is very similar to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It would be a pleasant surprise and a perfect way to add more hype to the game.

Another important note is that Ghost Rider was not mentioned in the previous leaks for the game’s roster.

At this point, with how many characters that have been announced who weren’t on the leaks, my hopes for a more complete roster for the game have very cautiously improved. While I still don’t have much hope for an awesome surprise announcement that adds in a bunch of X-Men characters, I do have slightly more hope the rest of the roster will deviate from the roster in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

What are your thoughts about Ghost Rider? What about the leaks that are being proven even more wrong? Who else do you hope will be revealed before the game is out?
